The event, organized by the Departments of English Linguistics, Foreign Languages and Literature, and Germanic Philology, with support from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation of Uzbekistan, brought together researchers and educators from various countries around the world.
The conference was inaugurated by prominent Uzbek scholars, including Dr. Yekubdjan Suvonovich Ergashev, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor, and Vice-Rector for Research and Innovation at NUUz; Professor Khabibulla Makhamatjanovich Bakiyev, Dean of the Faculty of Foreign Philology; Dr. Jamila Sharipovna Djumabaeva, Doctor of Philology, Professor, and Head of the Department of English Linguistics; Dr. Shukhratkhon Salijanovna Imyaminova, Candidate of Philology, Professor, and Head of the Department of Germanic Philology; and Dr. Khurshid Abdimalikovich Sarimsakov, Doctor of Philology, Associate Professor at the Department of Foreign Languages and Literature, NUUz.
Focusing on the challenges of modern linguistics and translation in the context of globalization and digitalization, the conference emerged as a significant event for the Central Asian academic community. Participants engaged in discussions on a wide range of topics, including translation challenges, sociolinguistics, cognitive linguistics, media language, the preservation of linguistic heritage, as well as the methodology and relevance of employing new technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI).
A notable highlight was the participation of researchers from the Kyrgyz Republic, including faculty members from Ala-Too International University: Nariste Muratovna Alieva, Djamby Kubatbekovna Djusubalieva, and Bakai Maratovich Maratov. Their active involvement in scholarly discussions underscored the importance of regional collaboration and demonstrated the high level of expertise and research interest among Kyrgyz specialists in contemporary linguistics.
Particular attention was drawn to a presentation by researcher Nariste Alieva, titled «Challenges of Sign Interpretation and Contextual Understanding in Human-AI Dialogue.» This study, situated at the intersection of linguistics, communication theories, and emerging technologies, sparked a lively discussion on the future of human-AI interaction, as well as the ethics and semantics of «machine language.»
The participation of Kyrgyz researchers from Ala-Too International University further reaffirmed the value of regional cooperation and the advanced training of Kyrgyz specialists. The conference showcased a diversity of research approaches, strengthened academic ties across the region, and contributed to the development of a new generation of scholars prepared for intercultural collaboration and innovation at the nexus of the humanities and technology.
This event highlights Uzbekistan’s commitment to fostering international dialogue and advancing modern scientific approaches in the fields of linguistics, translation, and interdisciplinary research.
